MINIMUM NUMBER
OF BOARD MEETINGS

How often board meetings must be held is generally called for in the bylaws. For most associations, meetings are held monthly. If the governing documents are silent, board meetings must be held at least quarterly so directors can review the association's financial documents as required by Civil Code §1365.5.

The requirement for at least quarterly meetings will override any requirement in the governing documents that might call for only annual or semi-annual board meetings.
