CATEGORIES OF COMMITTEES Following are three broad categories of committees: Ad Hoc Committees. A temporary committee established to address a specific issue. These committees go out of existence when they accomplish their assignment. See examples. Executive Committees. An "Executive Committee" is a committee composed entirely of directors. The board may delegate authority to the committee to act on the board's behalf. Standing Committees. Standing committees may exist independently of the Board if they are established in the CC&Rs or the Bylaws. Such committees cannot be abolished by the Board. The most common example is the Architectural Committee. Updated by ADAMS KESSLER 5/5/2008 | |
